Pet Debuff Effects in 2Moons
After around level 150 the pets are not there for the damage but for debuff effects. Up till around 140 you could still knock back classes with level 5 agares. At 150ish, everyone should have enough HP (2moons gold) not to get knocked back by it. Tentator for a 108+ staff summy is purely for pvp purposes or bosses.
As for a guide, do not take my word for it, nor anyone elses. Base your judgement on experience and what works well for you. Because it is a mixture of build and tactics is whats important.
The only other advice we could give for a newbie staff summy at 108 is the best skill chain for nonstop aoe is: For pve Hellburst, Increased poison, Palpus, Summon ghost, infected earth, Switch, Dark avatar. For pvp, you have to kite allot. a generic tactic for pvp as staff without any tricks would be.
