This may prevent them ever becoming mainstream weapon builds for fighters but you may have interests to hear from someone who has tried it. Using a 1-hand heavy weapon and shield will gain a fighter extra lapis slots and stats, but many people will be willing to lose enhanced windspin for those slots.
