The Basics of Bridge Crew in Star Trek Online
You can not be a good starship captain without a competent Bridge Crew. Star Trek Online Guide brings you the rundown on how Bridge Officers work with you on ground and in space. They play an extremely important role in how your ship performs. On away missions, the Bridge Crew can accompany the player if there are vacant positions in the team. Bridge Officers can be bought from Earth Space Dock in the Personnel Department. This can be found in the Sol system, when you start out initially. They can also be given by the Starfleet as a reward for completing a mission. Each Bridge Officer has different sets of skill and bonuses that can give you an advantage in your adventures but the number of new recruits is limited. You could try checking from time to time if the ideal Bridge Officer is available or you can trade with another Captain. Do note that you can not choose your bridge officer name. This Bridge Crew STO Guide will now tackle the customization of the Bridge Officers. Each Bridge Officer has two skills per rank, one skill to use in space and the other for away missions. If you find a Bridge Officer with a special skill that you like, an existing Bridge Officer can learn that skill but in exchange for the skill he previously had for that level. You will usually want to have bridge officers to support your skills, in the sense, if you are a science officer, it is better to have a tactical BO with you. This way, you have some firepower in away missions. These bridge officers also play crucial roles in space combat as well, as they have space skills as well.
