The Guide for Melee Plays in Age of Conan
So we just started a melee guy, could not stand it. Combos and everything were a pain in the arss, and then we had an idea. Why do not we just set up our melee like our caster? Now they play (aoc gold) exactly the same, we just set the UI up so we hit the ability, then we have the combo direction, combo direction. Next ability, combo Direction, Next ability, Combo Direction, combo direction, combo direction.
Just bringing this up because the classes play (aoc money) amazingly similar if you set your bars like this. We even have 2 Bars for switching Weapons, for example Top Bar is for Bow, Second for Melee. Or on our Conq, Top Bar is for 2 Handed, Second is for dual wield.
Even in PVE melee is a pain to play by comparison to casters. You have to position yourself in melee range. In raids this can be so annoying as there are son many people crowded around the mobs add to this the mobs move around and you have your combos half working because targets are out of range.
As a caster, rather than running around trying to keep positioned in melee range you just cast your combo less cast buttons and it hits the target no matter where he goes. Playing a caster is like taking a vacation.
