The Situation in Age of Conan
The reason you do not see it is because the PvE situation in the game (age of conan gold) is stagnant. The situation we are looking at now with 1, 06 and then the new expansion coming later in the year is what most PvE game has every year or so. Two years into a game this important we should be looking forward to the second major expansion, not the first. Raiding remains a challenge because there should always be new stuff you need to strive to complete.
Expansions and new content gives you that. Expansions also keep players happy and bring old players back to the game (conan gold). It is the bread and butter of the MMORPG business. The PvE game is about striving to work out and beat content you have never faced before, to get a group cohesive enough that they can coordinate and work together to beat an encounter. First few times, lots of fun, doing it again and again because there is nothing more not so much.
Imagine if Kesh was just the same faces around the duel pit which BTW it seems to be. PvPing the same guy 20 times may still be fun but a 100 times. Same thing. People leave because of lack of content, at least PvPers and Rpers can make their own entertainment to some degree, but even then there is a limit to what you can do if there is not at least some new blood.
