However, you could only recommend doing this after level 30 as you will level to fast below that and waste your money. Just with weapons, you can use blood seals on armor. Instead of getting attack, you could get evasion and defense. Also like the weapons, you can use purification gems on the armor to get rid of old blood seals allowing you to get new ones.
